This immersive collective visual practice will transform the way you hear, depict, and reflect on your experiences. By engaging in deep listening and sensing, you’ll embark on a journey that takes you beyond surface-level knowledge, allowing you to connect with the essence of the experience. Rooted in the listening levels of Theory U and generative scribing used by Kelvy Birt, this workshop invites participants to tap into a deeper level of awareness, encouraging you to listen not only with your ears but with your entire being. We will challenge ourselves to move past the obvious and explore what lies beneath the surface, capturing what wants to emerge. This practice will enable you to depict your understanding through line, shape, color and imagery to portray fuller picture of the emotional and sensory layers that emerge for you. Listening deeply to both your inner selves and the world around us, you will be free to capture the essence without constraints. We will engage in a process of mirroring each other's images in a nonjudgmental and collaborative way. This allows us to step back and observe our work through the eyes of others, inviting fresh perspectives that emerge from shared experiences. As we reflect on one another’s interpretations, new insights will emerge, enriching our collective understanding and reinforcing the value of diverse viewpoints. In this space, everyone is heard, respected, and valued. By engaging in collective meaning-making, we will co-create a deeper connection to ourselves and each other, exploring the nuances of our perceptions and discovering the transformative power of collaborative reflection. This workshop is an opportunity to liberate ourselves from conventional ways of scribing and unlocking new ways of using visuals to uncover a deeper meaning for gaining knowledge from the field around us.
